High Point In a Snapshot this Fall

Increasing Access for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community:

High Point and SEMCOA were one of three agencies in Massachusetts awarded over $660,000 by the Massachusetts Commission on Deaf and Hard of Hearing to enhance accessibility in substance use treatment programs.

Through staff training, environmental updates like improved lighting, signage, and strobe safety features, and tools such as ASL videos, iPads, and visual alert devices, our programs are becoming more inclusive for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

We’re proud to continue this important work to ensure equal access and comfort for all individuals seeking care.

On July 16, High Point’s Outreach Committee hosted a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) celebration on the grounds of Brockton High School. Despite the summer heat, over 100 attendees joined in fun activities, including free ice cream, face painting, music by DJ NewNew Musik, and a visit from Bluey!

The event featured 20 resource providers and staff from High Point's MCI, CBHI, Healthy Families, and Prevention, coming together to celebrate community, connection, and culture while expanding access to crucial behavioral health services.

Inpatient, Outpatient and Community Based Services participated in numerous overdose awareness month events throughout Plymouth & Bristol Counties.

As candles glowed, attendees honored those lost to overdose, sharing stories, memories, and love that endures. These gatherings offered comfort, solidarity, and hope for those continuing on the path of recovery.

National Save a Life Day

High Point & SEMCOA were able to distribute 144 doses of Narcan to staff throughout the agencies on September 25 in honor of National Save a Life Day. Thank you to Plymouth County Outreach for providing us with the life-saving overdose reversal medication.

Recovery Month:

Throughout October, our agency proudly celebrates Recovery Month by recognizing our staff in recovery, celebrating the successes of our patients, and being actively involved in community events.

Exciting Changes at Plymouth Outpatient:

Plymouth Outpatient is transitioning from its partnership with Child and Family Services to become an Outpatient Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center, effective December 1. This change will not affect the scope or quality of care we provide—services will simply be billed under the new urgent care model.
